Long anticipated, the first issue of GLIDER MAGAZINE is now available!

GLIDER MAGAZINE is a digital magazine released bi-monthly. Available for $6, the main purpose of GLIDER MAGAZINE is to raise money for vet funds and rescues while raising awareness and fun throughout the greater glider community. We featured authors and photographers from all over, and bundle it up in pretty but functional design.

“Glider Magazine truly has
the benefit of the sugar glider in mind.”

“If there’s anything we’ve learned from popular mill brokers and breeders, it’s that presentation is everything. Savvy salesmanship and pretty marketing tactics are what make them a formidable challenge to those of us who want nothing less than the best for our furry friends. With the release of publications such as Glider Magazine, however, we as a community can begin to spread awareness in the same way that mill brokers spread misinformation. This is why peer-reviewed magazines like Glider Magazine exist – to benefit people and pets alike.”

“Glider Magazine is
amazing and educational”

“Full on articles, cute suggie pictures, and helpful tips and tricks. All wrapped up at a great price, and even better…it all goes to a great cause!”

“The Glider Magazine is a great resource of information for owners, breeders, and vendors alike! The layout is professional and clearly thought through, as well as the content of the articles! Not only did I learn some new facts about gliders, I found vendors to check out also, and best of all the money was donated to causes I fully support!”

“I am looking forward to
the next installment!”

I found the Glider Magizine to be very informative. As a new glider owner I am always looking for more information on these lovey creatures and this magazine has done that!

Breeding

People see sugar glider joeys and seem to immediately jump to the idea that breeding is both exciting and financially fulfilling. “If I sell sugar gliders, I’ll make so much money!” And while some breeders do manage to break even or make a profit, most stay very firmly in the red. Not only is breeding taxing on your wallet, it can also be emotionally and even physically exhausting. Things don’t always go as planned.

WELCOME TO TSGA’S REBOOT GIVEAWAY!

NEW WEBSITE, NEW LOOK, NEW THINGS – FOR YOU!

Another week, another giveaway! Let’s see what we have lined up this week…

Starting us off is a Glider Bucket from Sugar Exotics.

We, like so many others, fell crazy in love with Sugar Gliders as soon as we laid eyes on them. We fell for them so much that we acquired 4 within the first 4 months of owning them. Luckily, we had done hours upon hours of research and knew what we were getting into. This is where a lot of people really mess up. They don’t realize exactly how much can go into owning these adorable little creatures. That’s the main reason we decided to start a site with as much information as possible.

Information isn’t the only reason we decided to start Sugar Exotics, we also breed! We only have two breeding pairs at the moment, so we don’t have available joeys as much as others. Our two girls aren’t on the same cycle, so they almost always have joeys at different times. That works out well, though. It gives us time to socialize each of their joeys as much as we would like without neglecting the others.

Aside from information and joeys, we also make Sugar Glider cage sets! We make anything from a regular pouch to to bridges to our signature item, The Glider Bucket! Be sure to stop by the Glider Gear page for more information.

There are a couple cage sets from Megan and LaVaughn residing here at TSGA, and we love them! Whomever gets the Glider Bucket is a lucky one.

The other thing you could win this week is a pack of two Monkeycliners from The Jumpin’ Monkey!

My name is Aimee and I live in Arlington, VA, just outside Washington, D.C. I am a proud mama to a six pack  a.k.a. “The Monkeys”.

Since purchasing Bandit from a mill broker, I have dedicated myself to learning and educating others about owning and caring for sugar gliders. I am a moderator on GliderCENTRAL – screen name DCMuffin – an invaluable resource to anyone interested in becoming a glider owner and for those of us that currently are.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Brian (BugDaddy on GliderCENTRAL) and we have a daughter, Ashley who also lives nearby. Along with The Monkeys, we also have a lab/pitbull mix, Kona and a whole lot of dustbunnies!

Now, we’re switching it up this week, so pay attention!

Here’s what you have to do:

Good luck!

Our new business cards and stickers came in from Moo! I love ordering cards from Moo. The quality is spectacular, the price is reasonable, and the turn-around time is great.

For those of you that haven’t heard of Moo, here’s what they have to say about themselves:

MOO was born out of a love of beautiful, high-quality print.
Printing has been around for centuries, and we’re certainly not the first printer on the web. But, whilst many other printers have chosen to use new technologies to simply reduce the costs of printing (and often the quality), we strive to make print not only cost-effective but better than ever before.
We want to set a new standard for print, with remarkable new products that bring great design and uncompromising, high standards to the web. We’re only young, but when we grow up we want to be the best printer on the internet.
We believe in the power of great design.
Design is key to everything MOO does.
Design helps us stand out: from the clothes we wear, to the homes we live in, to the business cards we use. Design tells a story about us and what we stand for.
But professional-quality design has traditionally been expensive or out of reach for most people; we want to change this. We’re passionate about helping people of all abilities design the best looking and highest quality print products: products that will help them or their business look great.
Our company vision is simple but ambitious: “great design for everyone”.

If you’re looking for business cards, definitely check out Moo.

My secret project from the other day can finally be revealed!

Documentary

My name is Inëz, and I’m a sugar glider fanatic. No, this isn’t my introduction for Sugar Glider Owners Anonymous, though it would be fitting, no? My boyfriend, Jon, and I have two of our own sugar gliders, Apollo and Artemis. They’re two little rascals and they light up our lives with their adorable antics and curious personalities. But more importantly to you, the reader, I’m also a film student and aspiring documentarian.

Sam

I started out this school year with a goal to create a film consolidating information on how to properly care for and own a sugar glider as my final practicum film. Sounds easy enough, right? But what started out as a puff piece about owning and caring for sugar gliders soon turned into a more serious issue. After spending a ton of time researching these little critters, however, I’ve realized that talking about the care and keeping of a sugar glider just wouldn’t do justice to the underlying problem of the online sugar glider trade, the rampant glider misinformation, and what people will do to make a buck on these creatures. My goal is both simple and complicated: Create a documentary about how misinformation can lead to problems for both sugar gliders and their owners.

Aside from working on this documentary, Jon and I also do film work as a production duo with our label, Czymbor & Vertullo. Our latest work, a short romantic comedy called Training Wheels, is currently on a film festival run, which we are managing. When we’re not filmmaking, we love button mashing at the arcade and writing cheesy scripts.

Welcome to TSGA’s REBOOT GIVEAWAY!

New website, new look, new things – for you!

This week we have a whole different bundle of fun waiting for you! Three of you will win one of these awesome prizes.
You could win a brand new pink and yellow Snoopy themed cage set from Rachel of Sugar Combs, donated by Danielle of My Little Sugar Glider.

mlsgRachel: Everything made in the craft room is made in a smoke free and animal free environment as all my gliders live in the house. I wash all fabric before it even enters in the craft room, and rewash the sewn products before they get shipped out to test the stitches.

Danielle: I have been owned by sugar gliders since 1997.  On this website, you will find some information I have collected over the years pertaining to the proper care and feeding of these unique little creatures.

We at TSGA love Rachel’s cage sets. You can read a review here. And we love Thomas O’Malley and Duchess, the gliders we got from Danielle. They’re so sweet, and they were so well paired! Danielle was wonderful through the whole thing.

You could win a large Happy Flapper from Sara at Sugar Seeds.

tsgabuttonThe Happy Flapper was designed to provide easy access to pouch aggressive gliders as well as joeys and their parents. The design allows for seclusion and darkness when closed, and simple and quick access when a flap is opened.

Sara created Sugar Seeds to provide healthy, organic treats as well as unique, safe cage sets.

TSGA loves Sara’s Sugar Seeds. Especially the Happy Flapper!

Or you could win a logo from us here at The Sugar Glider Adventure. If you want to see logos and other work we’ve done in the past, check here. We love doing logos and websites for people in the glider community!

Here’s what you have to do:
